I enjoyed the thread IF you were up by four with three minutes left on the two -- what would you do --- Different slant -- still up by four but now your back up against the 2 yard line -- What would you do???
Punt or take the safety, I know there are a ton of variables - but lets hear some of your ideas...

I think it would depend on how many timeouts we had left. If we can stop the clock on defense with timeouts, we would punt it. However, if we are out of timeouts, I am not sure what we would do. I will be interested to read the replies to this post. Good question.

Yes, a lot of variables here. The first thing I though of were the other team's timeouts and how good is their kicker. If you take the safety, the lead is cut to two and now a FG beats you.

Take the safety.
If you take the safety, less likely to get a TD.
When you are up, you have to play field position and clock more than anything else. I trust my punter when no one is rushing him, not with his back against the wall.
