Also I will add that sometimes really good assistants or other people not in a head coach position are phenomenal. More scheme specific sometimes. And HCs have a lot on their plate and sometimes aren't as enthused. Some non-HC guys (some on here) that are phenomenal speakers - Jerry Gordon, Broad Run. The guy wrote the book on the under defense. Phenomenal coach. Casey Miller, Cottonwood (that is a project of a program though so you probably aren't interested in the W/L program) John Cupps, No idea what school he is at now. Was the DC at LaSalle in Ohio and then Massillon. Chris Fore - In admin now but very good speaker Chris Vasseur - Bay Area DC, Gary Patterson disciple Will Hewlwtt - Aptos Assistant, good speaker with good experince Brett Dudley - young, energetic, personable. Great assistant. Never seen him speak but he does good things Cody Gardner - Park City Utah. personable, entertaining, intelligent. All my dudes... we had a hell of a clinic last year didn't we? Haven't had vassdiddy or Will (can't remember his huey name it's been so long) out in a while. We may have to make them come back for next year. There are definitely some coaches out there who are stuck in programs without talent to get a lot of Ws, who know what they are doing. So much of winning games comes down to just athletes, a guy with a 2-8 record may be a much better clinic speaker or have a GREAT scheme that he had to create to try and account for lack of talent, while a guy that's 11-3 and wins a title may just have 8 D1 guys on his roster and they could win without much more than "throw to Jimmy" Some guys win titles despite switching to a WingT offense from a spread week 7 of the season... right pvogel ?

Lol the championship winning year was the year before that... no scheme change needed. And a different HC haha. But yes exactly the point. Some of these speakers are TERRIBLE.

How to create a kicker. Coaching points to take an athletic kid and teach him to punt and kick. I don't think I have seen this before at a COY or Glazier clinic. Good idea, Coach. I'll pass this on to our team that works on topics and builds clinics. By the way...check the clinic(s) near you for this coming year. Over the years we've had lots of topics similar to the one you mention, so it's possible we'll have someone speaking on that in your area. Thanks again for the idea.

I know they are speaking a lot of places but if you could get a coach from Nebraska to one of the Chicago clinics that would be awesome. I am excited to see what they are going to do in the future as they put up a lot of numbers on offense this year. You're in luck, Coach! Nebraska's o-line coach, Greg Austin, is speaking in Chicago on Friday, Feb 8. I know you mentioned offense, but their d-line coach, Mike Dawson, is speaking in Chicago on Friday & Saturday, March 1 & 2. Hope you'll join us for both.

Yeah it has been way too long. Some of the old-guys don't post on here much anymore so we've fallen out of touch. We need to put together a Huey convention or something one of these days.

You guys in the Detroit area, EXTREMELY JEALOUS that Don Brown AND Gregg Williams will be in attendance! Someone please take good notes and pass them along! Also, Coach Holmes from Georgia is awesome! I had the pleasure of having a chalk war with him in Indianapolis...ok, not really pleasure, more like having to beat your head against the wall repeatedly! Made me a better ball coach! S/O to glazierprez and his staff for putting together that clinic! Awesome!
