I am looking for recommendations for a speaker for practice. I would like something bluetooth that has a good battery life and is loud enough to be heard on the whole practice field. Would be will to spend up to 500 dollars on it. Thanks for the help.

Also look into job site speakers at hardware store. I have a really number that serves me well, it can plug into the wall or run off the same battery as your drill, if plugged into the wall it can also charge said batteries and charge your phone, and you can close the phone into a compartment for safekeeping.

You can get a block rocker (works great for me) for $150 max I 2nd this. You can find them at Costco, usually on sale (store or online). I use them for class, practice, heck a BBQ party, etc...they are plenty loud, hold a charge for about a week of constant use. Easy to transport as well. And cheap!!!

We have a job rocker. It is great, but when you turn it loud the sound quality is poor...and it isn't quite loud enough for a full football field. I think we're going to buy this in a couple weeks: soundboks.com/

We have an Ecoxgear which is similar to the block rocker only it is waterproof, great for when it starts raining in the middle of practice. Picked it up at Costco for around $150 and it works great. We set it up about 6ft off the ground and it is clear and plenty loud. The Bluetooth range isn't great so we have to leave the music source pretty close to the speaker, we play music during practice and sync a timer to it as well.

How often are you guys playing music during practice? We play music every day for every session except team teach. I love the loudness/chaos it somewhat creates, also really puts the kids in a better mood I believe, we play stuff the kids like mixed in with a few song coaches like, we are a pretty young staff so most of us actually like what the kids listen to. We are at a catholic school so it has to be clean which is easy to find.

www.amazon.com/ION-Audio-Total-Plus-Multisource/dp/B01F73LQ7UWe have a little wussy sounding segment timer that can still be heard while playing this at a reasonable volume. The sound is full enough at a volume that allows you to coach and not scream and also to be heard at the opposite end of the practice field. Full body sound, multiple hookups, easily portable. Music at practice is a total energy and attitude changer. Practice without music is like the weight room without music. It blows.
