Anyone having issues with getting your helmets back? Ours were pucked up in January and by Spring Practice in May we still didn’t have them back. They had not even started on them, so they sent them back as they were for Spring FB.
As soon as Spring ball was over we sent them back again with a promise to have them back the week of July 4th. In the meantime they sent us some “loaner” helmets until we got ours back. All white. Ours are Gold.
Long story short, we start official practice next Friday the 27th of July. Today is the 20th. We still do not have our helmets!!! 30+ as a HC and have never experienced this!

We ordered 60 new helmets that were supposed to be here a week ago. The rep called today and said, "Will it be a problem if your order doesn't arrive until August 1?" It's unbelievable. By the way, the answer was "yes, it will be a problem since our first game would be 2 weeks later and we won't meet minimum helmet time requirements." The order was placed in March.

We had a varsity coach that was replaced and neglected to have the middle school helmets recondition. Even though the rep busted his rear end, to get us the helmets as soon as possible it ended up costing us a scrimmage, because we were unable to get the required 10 days of full pads. It is so annoying. My advice, do what you can. We worked on more detailed cerebral activities and special teams perfection.

Umm...we haven’t had the best experience the last few years going directly through Riddell and Schutt. Maybe a legitimate reconditioning company will open up in our area and will get all the business. I wouldn’t got back with Riddell or Schutt for free.

We don't have spring ball but ours still come back by April.
New company or a new rep, or both.
We have kept the same rep even while riddell has restructured territories. Our rep was able to keep us as a client and we would not have it any other way. A good rep is something you hold on to, he has never steered us wrong.

Remember the pecking order is NFL, D1 College, D2, D3, HS, and youth. And then in that mix comes do you have an MSA (master service agreement, contract) or are you just a buy here and there guy. If you have an MSA you move to the front, if not you get bounced back. Are you using Riddell to do Schutt helmets and vice versa. Try a local guy. Or bite the bullet and sign an MSA with penalties if they miss a deadline. An MSA can also have issues if you don't put in penalties. We had one for polos, got them 4 games in last year. So don't just sign, get a business guy to look it over make sure you can get compensation for bad service.
