I live in a major sec football power town. I would suggest if you can, have the opportunity, you put the delusional parents, kids in front of those athletes. Its eye opening. They are some big individuals, especially on the line of scrimmage. I am 6-2. I have run into two nose tackles. One was 6 inches taller than I was? And THICK. The other was an 2 inches taller, if that, And his arm was bigger than width of my chest.

Most kids know whether or not they’re major college football material by the middle of the 12th grade. It’s the parents that are completely delirious.

That's one of the reasons I like for my delusional space cadets to go to the recruiting camps. Lets them see what a real D1 athlete looks and performs like.

Yes, the notion has been discussed at length before here. Most of us don’t live where such athletes are available on demand but we can look up their measurables.

Right, but the nearest athletes of that calibre for me are a two hour drive away. I doubt I’m alone in that.
