I've contacted 4- only heard back from Jeff Fisher. A lot of people I know had said Bum Phillips was pretty accessible when he coached. Maybe it is an Oilers/Titans thing...

Most contacts were scheme related issues. I wrote to one to ask about job related issues.
I did forget to mention that CFL coaches have always been very good to get info from, etc. This may have to do with the fact that my college coach was in the CFL for a long time (BC and Winnipeg) and he introduced me to a lot of coaches. Years ago, I got to "guest coach" at the BC rookie camp... a lot of fun, and learned some stuff too.

I haven't tried to contact any NFL coaches.
Charlie Weis sent a letter back to me, when I contacted him. That's the closest to an NFL coach I've tried to contact.

I wrote to Jon Gruden before and sent him a tape asking him for some drills for QBs. I got a phone call and a letter back with my tape from the Bucs saying that all his videos and tapes are not allowed out and are highly safe guarded. I respect that they wrote and left me a voice mail message though. I sent the DB coach from the Bengals a tape to send me a drill tape and he sent it right back with a lecture that he did and the drills with it. I think most of the assistants in the NFL will send stuff out if its a drill tape or lecture or something during the offseason. Just write a letter and send a tape with it.

Would you just address it to a teams mailing address and in the letter request that it be sent to a certain coach?

JOIN THE AFCA www.afca.org !!!! In their annual directory they have every NFL teams mailing address. Just put Cincinnati Bengals and underneath put the assistant coaches name. They will get it.
