This is a pet peeves but is really meant as a suggestion: Don't use initials or acronyms unless it's one that would be immediately recognized by just about everyone. An example is a guy who taught EDB. I have no idea what that is. Maybe I should and will stand corrected but I can't be the only guy who is puzzled when somebody asks, "Can anybody help me with RDX?".

I realize it may be shocking to some, but not everyone is well versed in the terms that Nick Saban or Guy Patterson use (defensively) or Airraid pass concept lingo. I know it is commonly joked about that there is no common terminology in football, BUT I do think a Saban term and TCU term would be a useful thread. Not "universal terms"...that has been tried several times and always turns into "Well, thats not what I call cover 7..." but rather "Here are the terms for Saban, here are the terms for Patterson..."

I get what you are saying and I’m guilty at times also but why not just ask what they mean? I never have too much pride to ask if I don’t know. Otherwise I will never know

Would this have anything to do with the RKO thread???
It’s getting out of hand, but man I needed that laugh today.

Maybe somebody can create a google drive of initials and abbreviations and share with everybody? Yeah, my players have been saying “it’s lit” a lot, and I was just wondering if that was an acronym for something inappropriate because that always laugh when they say it.

I know “it’s lit” as a term of excitement.
Example “it’s gonna be lit tonight” - translation it’s going to be awesome/exciting.
At least that’s my knowledge of it. Former JV DC who was a cool guy used to say “we live!” as a similar term and it caught on with the kids. Used it to get the enthusiasm going
