Question for guys in California, particularly CIF Southern Section.
If a high school coach coaches for a 7 on 7 club team and kids from outside of the high schools attendance zone then transfers to the high school of his 7 on 7 coach, that would be considered undue influence correct? Can the same be said for an 8th grader who lives in one attendance zone but plays for a 7 on 7 coach who also coaches at a high school out of his attendance zone?

I believe that is undue influence, I could be mistaken but I thought HS coaches were not allowed to work with MS/youth teams (7 on 7 included)

I don’t know much about the incoming 8th grader rule, but for a kid to transfer to a school where his 7-7 coach is at is considered undue influence.
Been on both ends.

This 7 on 7 BS just irks me. It almost seems as if you want to be successful you have to join that crowd. My staff and I have far too much to do than to worry about sniffing the jocks of 8th graders and far too much integrity to charge them an arm and a leg to take them to some tournaments.
