Be grateful you have spring ball in the first place. And, if you don't have spring ball, be careful what you wish for. I always liked spring ball as a break up from our off-season program. I love the Athletic Performance stuff and even I need that three week break. Although I never felt the need to play a game except to make the kids happy. I would rather end with an intrasquad scrimmage but kids want to play someone else and show off for Sweet Judy Brown Eyes

We can practice (without pads/helmets) from June 1 to July 18 as many times as we want, and are allowed to go to padded camps. We do 3-4 of these a summer. I love this system. And since I have never experienced spring ball I can't comment on which is better but personally I wouldn't want it. I like things the way they are here.

Have to remember in HS Football is not as important to everyone as it is to us coaches.
For half or more of your players it may not even be their favorite sport. It's just what they play in the fall for the camaraderie and enjoyment.
