is "a ton"?
Posters on here say they run "a ton" of this or that.
Similar to some who say they run something "all day (night) long."
Exactly what does that mean?

Exactly what does that mean? To quantify this, when I say a I call a "ton of ____ during a game" I mean that it probably constitutes around a nearly a quarter of our play calls.

I'd say "a ton" is probably around a quarter of our play calls too. At first I was thinking over half of our calls, but it'd probably be more around 25%.

If a ton is 25% then I run a metric Fuk ton of power, at about 40 to 50%...

I think it depends on what you are talking about (specific play, play type, formation/front).
If we are talking about a specific play, then I think the 33% minimum is about right. But that doesn't work for play type: otherwise you could say we run the ball and pass the ball a "ton". For play type I'd go at least 75% for a ton (maybe 67%). Probably the same for formation.
Looking at defenses I feel like blitzing (5 rushers or more) would probably be at 50%, and any given coverage would be at 67%. Front wise Ive seen a lot of schools that seem to only have one front, so I might say 100%.

We once ran power 51 times in 62 offensive snaps during a game. I believe that's known as a "long ton" or, to the British, a "Sheep's Cadoozle."

A lot. More than I would usually do. More than others who know me would think I would do.

What weighs more, a ton of power or a ton of feathers?
