Hi guys what do you get your players as part of their "kit" for the year?
We are in the process of ordering for the fall and we normally do a hoodie, shorts, tshirt, last year we added in team gloves.
This stuff seems to really matter to the kids so just wondering what everyone else here is doing.
Thanks.

We give them a shirt and a pair of shorts to keep. Usually dri fit or something similar in a name brand. They turn these back in during the season and we wash and keep up with them, and we give them back out to the kids to practice in on Thursdays. Then at the end of the year we give them to the kids to keep. We also buy each kid a compression shirt and pair of cleats to wear during the games. However, these are not theirs, they turn these back in. We pass them down to the JV for the next year.

Just throwing other stuff out there Padded girdle Bag Practice jersey Socks The last school I was at also put padded girdles in the pack. It’s a double bonus...kids don’t have to wear a piece of clothing that has another dudes man sweat and coaches don’t have to collect and inventory girdles.

We also collect girdles from graduating players if they don't think they will ever use it. They are washed and serve as replacements if a current athlete loses the one that was given to him. Or, he can buy his own.

Shirts if they reach certain lifting totals and for placing top 8 on the pre-season test. Mostly they get a chance to play on a physical, inspiring team in the best sport on earth.

Do you have this cost included in your team fee or is this taken out of some budget?

I always got them what they had decided they wanted it to be...
We did our big fundraiser in the spring and just after the new-year I'd bring in all the upcoming seniors and we would go through the Under Armour catalog and I'd let them select the gear they wanted up to what the minimum fundraising requirement was.
I was able to get stuff the kids wanted... let them have a say in it... and use it to motivate them to fund-raise. Worked pretty well.

T-Shirt, shorts, Dri-Fit compression (we wear these in 7V7 as well), game day polo, sweat pants and sweat shirt. We also offer them a team price on cleats if they want to buy them but it is not mandatory.
We cover cost through booster club membership fees and fundraising
