With trying to cut down on practice time... I immediately think of warm-ups. I know that warming up is needed and important for the health of players. However, I think there is a way to do it more efficiently and football specific. Almost like an extra individual time. I am thinking maybe an offensive warm-up one day, defensive one day, and special teams the other day. I caught the tail end of a team doing this before a game. It looked like this... Wr running a short hitch/ slant, then do frankensteins, walking quad stretch on the way back to then end of the line. They would change stretches after every route they ran. I would like to be able to do this with all positions offensive, defensive, special teams. Have any of you done this?

We went to this and it was exactly how you described in that it was an extra indi period.

Warm up. Over rated. Make it an individual segment. There’s a thread in here somewhere about stretching that became a little divisive.

Do you know where to find more material about him?

Can you give some examples of what you do? How you tie-in stretching ?

We do a dynamic warm-up similar to what Coach Radcliffe had teams do at Oregon. Entire team moves at same time, no wasted time. We like it.

Five or six minute warmups work just fine. I like them together just from the "get the team together aspect", but I can see the pros of group warmup
