Example: "All coaches who don't run the spread are stupid, behind the times, and hurting their teams' chance to win." The truth can never be polemical

The same Trev Alberts that all the homers at Nebraska were recently demanding be appointed AD there? Yes. Which goes to show that sometimes dropping football isn't the action of some "football hating wussy liberal that hates everything masculine.... " and whatever else vanden48 claimed. Sometimes that might be true, sometimes the reality of the situation is simply that football is a tough sport to maintain for most universities. "Football hating wussy liberal" It might be longer, but I like this soooo much better than "snowflake." Consider it stolen!!!

Yes, the same Trev Alberts, I think he played for Nebraska if I remember right. The funny thing, none of those programs have done well. I heard he declined the Nebraska offer, I'm guessing he knows he will be under greater scrutiny.

Its California, the liberals that run that state and the education system hate everything masculine. They would love to eliminate football, and have all those football players in tutus, change their names to Nancy, and talk about their feelings. This is just part of the liberal attack on football, America, and everything good about this country. I'm glad I am out of that state, and never going back. You weren't quite able to keep to your original intention here huh: "My opinion is that their hatred for the sport stems from political ideology, but that discussion is not for this thread."

Care to define it for the rest of us? I'll step in for him: po·lem·i·cal pəˈlemək(ə)l adjective relating to or involving strongly critical, controversial, or disputatious writing or speech. Basically, what Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and that jackass atheist guy you knew in college who wouldn't stop ranting against Christianity do. It's when you go all out to argue against the other side and make them look as awful as possible with overly broad, negative statements that paint them all the same and don't concede fair points to them. ...and CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, etc are not guilty of this at all? Cuts both ways!

Cuts both ways! I didn't say that they weren't. It cuts both ways, but those two are the most egregious examples. The leftist media pundits tend to be a little more subtle about it.

This is problem at Humboldt State has more to do with Administrators that don't have a clue about the sports that they manage. I don't know how so many non-athletic people became involved in athletics. There needs to be a good mix of knowledge of the sport, as well as business management.
