Does anyone's school still have varsity letterman sweaters? Haven't seen them in 50 years, although I still have mine.

Thank you I saw the sites. Someone must be buying them. I wonder if kids today would wear them.

Does anyone's school still have varsity letterman sweaters? A lot of kids at our school ... all sports ... wear letter jackets (the old-fashioned ones with the leather sleeves). Can't remember how long it's been since I've see anybody wearing a letter sweater.

Nobody wears them anymore. I still have mine from college and high school.
I think it would be cool for a staff to wear them on the sidelines.

our school doesnt sell letterman jackets, kids just buy them on their own and our school gives them the patches
Most kids get the new kind but we had a kid 5 years ago, real throwback player, that found the old school sweater style one online somewhere and ordered it it looked pretty awesome

I've seen one kid in my five years at my current job wear a lettermen's jacket...I wish that pride would come back to where more kids had them/wanted them.

I got my letterman jacket for my 17 birthday present. Kids at our school still wear them, not everyone but several.

The sports here don’t even give out the letters anymore. If the kid earned a letter he goes to see the AD and he gives it to him. Cost savings since nobody wears the jackets anymore.

I've never seen a person actually wear a letter sweater in my life. Only have seen them in pictures and trophy cases or other displays.

I think cost may be an issue on the letterman jackets, they're $350+. When you add up all the awards & patches that go on them you're looking at over $400. I got one for one of my sons but the others don't/didn't care.

Kids at my school have a choice of the jacket or sweater. The sweater is by far the more popular option, but we wear a Uniform and the sweater does kind of look better with our uniform.

Intersting to hear about schools where they are not worn. Around here (Georgia), the jackets are still a pretty big deal.
