I have watched several Iowa games this season (including tonight's game vs. Texas) and I have mixed feelings toward Drew Tate. I realize that the networks covering the games probably give him more face time between plays than anyone in the nation, but his "passion" seems to be more negative than anything. On several occasions (including twice tonight), he spent a few seconds after a play pointing a finger & yelling at his right tackle. He had every opportunity to step up in the pocket and avoid the rush (especially since the rush was completely within his vision). He seems to be always barking at his wide receivers or running backs about cutting off a route, breaking late, or wearing the wrong socks. I am sure he is frustrated with the team's performance throughout the season but he seems to take it a little far. Personally, I want the QB to be a positive leader since he has to work in harmony with every other position. Has anyone had this type of QB? Talent & passion for victory but overally negative towards teammates. How have you/would you channel this type of QB in the right direction?

I don't know if it is too big of a deal. I would prefer someone like Tate as opposed to a silent type. I have seen some interviews with guys who have played with Peyton Manning and they said he is always screaming at somebody. He seems to do pretty well despite that fact.

Tate has matured in his tenure at Iowa. Granted he is a bit polarizing among the masses this season, I think the media has played up the negative {censored} all too much. You can trace it back to the 05 Ohio State spike.....all blown out of proportion.
