how about..........
DW formation...............on cadence, I put my "C" Wing in motion towards the sideline.
Only, instead of just jogging out, he goes straight to the sidelines flailling his arms ala Ricky Bobby?

as long as he doesnt go towards the line.. lol.. its legal..
saw a QB sneak for a TD in a youth game one time.. it was 4th and goal.. not sure the score.. but the SE took off running towards the other endzone.. the ball was snapped and half of the defense never moved.. TD

For Texas, Mass HS and college (NCAA rules), any trick play/tactic that uses equipment (ball, shoes, tees, chin strap, etc) or the substitution process (hiding players on sideline, ordering players off, etc) to confuse the opponent is illegal. It's a 15 yard penalty and 'flagrant offenders shall be disqualified'. Rule 9-2-2b and c.

Coach.. please dont take this the wrong way.. but in retrospect do you feel that it would have been best to save that play for Westminster.. or someone who played yall close? I just dont think I would use that play in a game I won 62-7.

It would definitely look that way in retrospect. However, at the time when we were playing a team 3 times our size and this was in the first half and they were doing a really good job of shutting us down, I thought it would be a good way to get our guys excited.
It worked. We scored 47 points in the next 16 minutes of play!

We held a hide out play 3 years ago until the first round playoff game.. we lost by 40.. 47-7 to be exact.. our lone score was on the hideout.. lol

All I can say is that team had better be a lot better than us if they run this. Otherwise, I would do everything in my power to run up the score on them (which I never do). Might be good for a laugh, but it doesn't make me feel like the coach has any strategy. Right up there with having your buddy get on all fours behind someone while you shove them over.
Legal? Jimmy cracks corn and I don't care.
My negative ranting is over.

I guess its not a problem if you are making them think the snap is "NOW" but it is not.. which is kind of off the wall considering one is fair and one is not.. But when you says.. "hey coach, I need this" or "we have the wrong this" it makes the defense think that nothing is going to happen until that person gets back.. I dont know whether or not I agree with any of it.. but it is in the rules as being illegal.. That's interesting. So, for example...would THIS be illegal: QB yells "Clock Play! Clock Play! Everyone on the Line!!" with the intention of decieving the defense that he is going to spike the ball. Instead, we snap it and run quick hitter for a 1st down or TD because the defense isn't prepared. Seems to me that this has been done before without seeing a flag, but by the definition you've presented, it would be illegal, right?

No not at all.. the use of words that make the defense think somethnig is "wrong" to make them think the game has been stopped is illegal.. I think it all falls under the new fair acts rule.. When yelling Clock play.. that is hurry hurry hurry.. we need to snap the ball.. the defense is expecting the snap.. what they do after the snap is up to their coaching or lack there of.
