For each senior that DOES NOT get an actual award (MVP, 110% award, etc), we give them a small plaque. In the past we have always put "Senior Award" on it. Does anyone have an idea to put on there instead of that? I don't want it to just say their name, High School and year. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

We have done something similar and called it "mascot" award.

We give out zero individual awards. Players know who the best player is, why feel the need to bring them up in front of everyone and say it again.
We give each Senior a gift for their service to the program, but no individual awards. Keeps everything about the TEAM. Not saying it's right or wrong, but it's our way.

I've seen both ways and wonder, what resonates better with the kids.
One team in our conference celebrates the individual, but tries to focus on team with that person's success. This is done through twitter on multiple postings and I assume that this carries on during a banquet. They won conference this year and made semis. They are cocky and no one in the conference cares for them, but they win and sure are happy with themselves.
Our team is much more reserved. It is unknown how the team is celebrated and I am pretty close to the program, certainly it is not public. But we are confident and have a winning culture/program. We have made the playoffs a couple years running.
The difference is, the public knows the one team but otherteams know us and that is how it should be.
When it is time for awards, all seniors will recieve gifts from outside the program, but performance will be rewarded by the staff and that is the various media teams, all conference teams and team decided awards. So gifts for all, but awards for the worthy.
That ties into the above differences throughout the year which is decided by your culture far before the banquet.

We do 6 individual awards at our end of year gathering: MVP, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP, Offensive Limenan of the Year, Most Improved and Captains Choice. The first 5 are voted on by the kids then the last one, is my favorite, the captains have to pick someone who is not all conference or getting one of the other awards and isn’t a captain that they feel is a major contributor to our football program. They also give the speech about the player before the award is given out.
For all our seniors we do dog tags. It has their name, number, and positions on it.
