Has anyone on here gone to a Thursday morning practice instead of an after school practice. What are some of the Pros and Cons in your opinion?

We've done it several times. Thursday practice is our walkthrough practice.
Pros - players are more attentive, you're able to get your practice in so that the players have some down time in the afternoon, can make sure they get a decent breakfast that morning, if you have sub-varsity games that afternoon then there is no interference with those games
Cons - making sure all players show up ( we start at 6:30 a.m. ). This only occurs the first time we have a Thursday morning practice.

We've always practiced after school on Thursdays. I've heard of some teams that practice on Monday mornings.

I have seen some smaller schools practice Monday mornings if that is the day the JV or underlevels have a game. That way everyone including the coaching staff can be there for practice. As for Thursdays I don't remember ever running practice on a Thursday morning in-season. I am not opposed to the idea though. It has some merit.

Depends on the school. If you have a lot of kids that can drive, Thursday morning! Our school started at 8:45 and we were on the field at 7:15am. Solid hour in just helmets. We had a 1st period football class so kids would go off campus to get breakfast or go to cafeteria at 8:15am and be back in time to eat/shower/film. It gave kids time for "appointments" in the afternoon and also gave them an extra 12hrs off their feet. Thurs afternoon is a lot less appealing to me now after having morning practice at a previous job.

We did it this year until we had to bring up more sophomores because of injuries. We also did a grade check/study hall after school on Thursday. However, the boys were out within 45 minutes of the end of the school day. They all said they really liked it. It gives them more time to get a “full” recovery or be as good as possible.
When we had to go back to after school on Thursday, I didn’t see much change and their energy or focus on Friday.

What about not practicing at all on Thursday's and walk through on Friday?
We went 10-2 this year (our best season in the last 11 years) & I still wanted somebody to kick me in the face on Thursday's. We came in early on some Friday's for film and a walk through.....it was amazing how much more focused they were (understandably so)

We do....
Our kids get here....
Pros: allows our kids/coaches to spend time on Thursday focusing on JV/9th grade or study hall or extra film. Free time for Thursday afternoons
Cons: We have to pack a lot of stuff into a short time, but this is our 3rd year so we have gotten it done
