I am currently at a school that only allows us to hold one fundraiser a year. We have already done ours and are searching for some ways to get some money in without being too obvious.
What are some ways to raise money without anyone knowing? Looking for some ideas.
One thing we are doing is a Lift-a-thon which we said is for the weight room budget. This is an obvious lie, because they have never had a budget for weight room equipment, it has always come from the football budget. But, we are getting away with it. Anything else you can think of would be a great help.

Got any sugar-daddies in town? You can raise money quick if they are willing to give you five-hundred bucks here and another five-hundred there. Maybe your 'daddies can give more?

We started a coaching clinic. I have my wife sell "split the pot" tickets during the first half of games.(get $125-300 per game, depending on crowd....we are a small school, maybe 300 people at a warm game) We sell player # and football graphics. We split money with the other sports from school apparel orders.

One school I was at had an orginization that raised money on the side and offered finical aid to other teams in the area if they wrote a letter and made a request. They did this basically so they could funnel money to us and at the same time give money to other teams so it looked legit. I left the school that benefited from this orginzation and so did the head coach they are still active and we got $1000 fo our camp from them. They run a gun raffle and sell 1000 $100 tickets for a chance to win for 100 days, so they make a good deal of money.

I know what your advice would be larrymoe....Three words- GET FIRED UP!!!! Either that or I should just bullrush some of the old ladies in the nursing home. That sounds like something our former coach would do. What a terrible teacher....and coach....and human . Enjoy your retreat.

In my youth coaching days...
We did a couple of things that were below the radar. Our local JC has a flea market the 2nd Saturday of each month. Cost $60 for 2 parking lot stalls. Get 5-8 families to contribute stuff that won't be coming back. Kids clothes, books, shoes, toys, pretty much everything. Take it, sell it, and whatever doesn't sell goes right to Goodwill. Nothing left to stock/return. As a non-profit we could do that twice a year. We'd make anywhere from $300-800 (1 time) doing this.
Another I've used is the local Arena Football League team does fund-raising. They sell a group tickets, in blocks of 20, for $13 each. The ticket has a face of $20-26. You buy the tickets for $13 and sell to the parents/players/anyone for $20-26. Difference goes in the team kitty. I've normally been able to sell 50-70 tickets for games. Tried to do the opening and closing games. Kids get to watch football, team gets money, SaberCats get butts in the seats.
We'also worked concession stands at concerts and the Raider and 49er games. Raider games a group can make $800-1,500 based on the game attendance.

My advice would be to do some clinics.....Charge 25.00 a kid and make some $$$ that way.....Don't ever do anything behind anyone's back....That is always opening yourself up for scandals.....

We got a group of parents to start a booster club. They got a tax exempt ID number and are a separate non-profit organization. Their pupose is to raise money for the football program. They are not bound by fundraising policies of the school district, so they can have as many as they want. The hard part is to get parents to run the organization and you have to be an active member. Fundraising is a neccessary evil and unfortunately it seems to be a bigger and bigger part of HS athletics.
