I know, this was just the link I had popped up on the computer at the time. According to the other articles, the coach wasn't fired or disciplined because the missing kid took off on his own and didnt rejoin the group

Leaving a kid behind in his skivvies to fend for himself in a high crime/drug area? Suddenly syrup body shots don't seem so bad.

This reminds me a lot of the "Year of the Bull" type crap. Coaches who can't control their anger and emotions take it out on the kids and justify it to themselves that they are just trying to prepare them for the real world.

I read the article. If it is true, it is 100% unacceptable and should be punishable by more than the loss of a job. I will say, however, that I hesitate before believing things that I hear like this because I've seen a couple scenarios lately in a situation where I know, NOT JUST BELIEVE, 100%, that the kid, WITH HIS PARENTS' HELP, was fabricating absolute lies. The father in this circumstancewas a guy i thought I knew and had some respect for, but after seeing how he and his wife worked to help their son create absolute falsities, that I know are 100% false, and have actual proof that they are false (not just going on gut), then act as if they are victims, throughout a community, because people don't believe this stuff, I just know that I hesitate in this circumstance.

This is why I'm a huge CYA person. I had a kid tell his parents I had cussed him out and called him all these names on a couple occasions. Both conversations happened in front of multiple coaches so it never went anywhere but the parents believed every word and wanted it investigated. I never let it be my word against the kids because admins are straight pu$$ies when it comes to parents.

Just read the original article and I was surprised by the parents not wanting to lend a hand. Turn around and get the kid! The coach was out of line right off the bat but the parents saying they were already too far away is pretty sh!tty in my opinion.
