We currently use the helmet beanies for scout team but they're kind of a pain in the ass to get to stay on the helmet. It also seems much more difficult to differentiate from the "regular" team with just the beanies. Do you guys use pinnies or beanies? And if you use pinnies, do you have any good recommendations? Can't decide which ones on Amazon to get.

Beanies. We got sick of wasting 5 minutes putting on the pennies each time we went Team O/D. That wastes 10+ minutes each practice.

Beanies, saves time and you can still tell who's who

Scrimmage vests with Velcro straps.

the vest that are big enough to slide on without taking your helmet off that Velcro on are great, but I think a little pricey, helmet condoms are quick but don't stay on very good

Best pinneys I've used have been hilariously oversized tshirts (7XL) with the sleeves and bottoms removed and the necks opened up a bit, slides right over a helmet.

We tried beanies and hated them. They kept coming off and when they didn't it was still hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys. I haven't noticed wearing pinneys as taking an inordinate amount of time.

Anyone have a good recommendation on a brand/specific type of pinney that fits well over shoulder pads and can take the beating of football? Most of the ones I see online are branded towards soccer. I do like the ones that have the velcro straps on the side but I see durability issues.

We got some of the velcro ones from our riddell rep, and they've heavy duty and lasted way better than the pinney ones.

We have pennies but the beanies are so much faster. We haven't had issues with them coming off.

We haven't had trouble with beanies coming off either. Maybe it depends on what brand you buy?

We use the Fisher pinnies. They are new this year and work well so far.

They were a thicker material and larger so they fit better over the helmets. The cheaper ones came up and also tore a lot. Where I am now we use pennies. It does take time. However since we mostly two-platoon once the scout team put on the pennies they don't have to change back until later so it doesn't waste a lot of time.

The scout OL keep their normal practice jerseys on. The skill kids put on old red/green practice jerseys we have.
By put on I mean I have ripped the chit out of the neck opening so they slide over their helmet and hang loose in front of their chest. Takes 5 seconds tops.

Can't decide which ones on Amazon to get. I've always liked what I call "bonnets". I'm assuming this is what you call "beanies". Right now, for some reason, all we've been able to find is black practice jerseys that take a year and a half to exchange between players. I'd much rather have a guy just put a black-bonnet-on-it and get back to playing football ASAP. Beyond that, I'd like to have the practice jerseys be as quick to put on as possible; definitely not full jersey types. I like bonnets. After that, I'd be okay with jerseys that just require a quick velcro to put on.
