Just wondering from the people that have worked these camps before what they are like. Also I see that they have a mandatory meeting at 8 A.M. the day of the camp so do they allow you to stay in the dorms or rooms the night before the camp since you have to be thier so early.

The one that I worked was a JOKE!! More of a fantasy camp, meet the pros, and get autographs more than a real football camp. Basically rich kids whose parents put them in a football camp to get rid of them for a week. The dorms were full so they put us up in a hotel across from Hooters!!! Dont yell at the kids and you have to fill out a recommendation sheet that tells all the kids that they have DI potential.

I worked the Chicago camp for 4 years. I really enjoyed. I was able to get on the kids. gave them truthful evals...but not negative...got to learn from other coaches there too...
YES you gotta be there early for the first day. NO they do not put you up that night...Contact them and maybe they could put in the dorm...depends upon the school.

I did there of theirs.
First was OK.
Second was OK.
Third was a nightmare!!! They did not have enough equipment. We had like 120 kids and only 8 footballs and 2 were flat! They had kids in rented gear that did not fit and was not safe. It was horrible.
I will never work for them again and I would warn all other coaches to beware of them!!!

The guy who runs it is only in for the $$$. He makes promises he often cannot keep. The one that was the nightmare was the John Randle Camp.
Tice took it over and I heard it was better.
But just dealing with the top guy was brutal and I would rather work (and have) for any other camps. They are not there for football. But it is an autograph camp and a money maker.
It is more like those Football Fantasy camps than a real camp!

I have worked with SI camps the past three summers. I have to say that when Tice was with the Vikings, it was top notch. He wasn't just a name; he actually ran the camp. He required coaches to work their tails off but treated the coaches like royalty each night at O'Garas pub.
William Henderson Camp is also top notch. William is also very active in the camp;not just a headliner.
However I have heard horror stories from other coaches who have worked other SI camps.
The camps I have worked have been very good about putting you up in the dorms the night before

The ones in NC used to be a joke. Can't comment on them now, as I haven't worked one in years. But it used to be a baby-sitting service with an autograph session.
