Has anyone been able to see the new Vicis Zero1 helmet in person? This is the helmet that is "supposed" to be our next answer to the concussion/CTE panic. I know a few NFL players wore them last season and more will wear them this season, as well as some college teams. Is this helmet all what it's cracked up to be? Is it cost effective for high school programs to invest in?

From what I can tell the helmet will not be cost effective for any organization below a major D1 college, as the helmet is $1500.

I guess it depends on the size and wealth of the program. The HS my kids go to have 400 kids in the program and have a great booster club, but that is a huge cost...even if you just buy enough for the varsity kids. That's a minimum of $125,000. You might see them at IMG or Bishop Gorman.
