How much is AFM? My mother ordered the Scholastic one the other day since they gave the school employees a nice discount (I don't work in the school so she's my link that gets the discounts for certain stuff for me ). Is it an ok magazine?

I would say AFM but I tend to get more out of books like the NIKE Clinic stuff. I think AFM has a lot of fluff to it and I personally don't think it is worth the 40 bucks. Also you can read all of Scholastic articles online for free.

Well it sounds like I need AFM, but in order to be able to afford it I need Coach Mo to give me a pay increase, or at least a COLA adjustment!!!!!!!!!!

I do think it is the number magazine but there is alot of fluff and a ton of ads. I also think there is a lot of info that does not concern me as a HS coach. I will turn around with my 40 bucks and get a couple of Nike Clinic manuals....more bang for the buck.

AFM has gotten thinner over the years. More ads and features, less technical football. Seems aimed more at college coaches than HS. Not sure I'm going to renew (have subscribed since Day One).
Not all SCHOLASTIC COACH articles are on their web site, just their featured ones.
GRIDIRON STRATEGIES (bi-monthly) seems more geared for us HS guys.

GridIron Strategies is like $55 a year.......that can't be right.
I like AFM, it is a great resource...could I spend that $30 on something else? Probably - but at least I get something reminding me to stay focussed every month ( I guess ).
Most of my great ideas come from STUFF magazine, anyway.

I'm sure the magazines are great but this site is the best deal on the planet.

I'm sure the magazines are great but this site is the best deal on the planet. can't beat the price....if it weren't for this site, I'd still be game planning with Electric football

After looking into it a bit more, I think I'll keep my $40 for some books/manuals. I like the idea of buying something that is focused solely on the subject I want to read about, rather than a "general" subject area.
