As I watched the whole Saban saga I was wondering, who was the last coll coach to jump to the NFL and have any impact? Seems to me the reverse is true NFL to coll with great success. I know the $ is huge in the NFL and of course the ego thing but it just seems like these guys would see how good they have it in coll and stay there.

Jimmy Johnson & Barry Switzer are the only ones I can think of recently.
Both won Super Bowls with the Cowboys and won a national championship in the college ranks.

Now that the money is almost as good in college as it is the NFL, I think the trend will reverse a bit. I think HCs and maybe even NFL coordinators will look to get in the college game more.

i think the nfl mentality is different then the college football mentality. the matchups and talent are closer. I mean the worst nfl team would thump the best college team.
