Note sure if this has been brought up before, and if it has send me to the right spot, but is there anyone out there who has a volunteer with a lap-top open taking stats as the game is going on? Then printing them all out instantly the game is over. If so, what software are you using?

At a previous school, we did. This would have been 6 years ago. Used Sydex software. Sydex can look a bit old, but gets the job done. Helped if you entered rosters before the game began. Needed two people in the booth just for stats. One as spotter, one to enter info-play by play.

We use a palm with Digital Scout's statware. Soon as it's over we sync it to the computer and can print reports. Had a student do it the past two years as an 8/9th grader.

We use Digital Scout "Statware" which requires the use of a palm pilot type device. It has worked great for us. One guy enters the stats and he usually has a helper spotting so he can keep up on the defensive tackles. After the game, hook it up to your computer and you can print stats with-in two minutes. The cost is about $125 plus the palm pilot.
