Does anyone have any information on a cooling unit that provides a water mist for players. I was told there are a few units that cool players off, kinda like a sprinkle of cold water. We were at a camp and they had this unit that sat over players and provided a nice mist too cool off. Thanks for any info.

A cheaper version (well not THAT cheap), is to get a big barn fan (like from Farm and Fleet) and attach a soaker hose to it with zip strips. We have done that the last few years and it works really well.

My maintenance director made a mister for us and erected it under the goal post on the practice field. The kids love it, and it is really inexpensive...just some pvc , the right attachments, and a garden hose.

I plan on spending some time in the mist when we start two-a-days next week. It has been HOT here...108 yesterday! The mister will be a huge asset to keep the kids cool, which should (at least in theory) make practices more efficient and productive.

Another thing we've got is a couple of tent/shelters that are about 10'x25'. They were here when we came on as a staff so I don't know where they got 'em but they don't look too expensive, but they are the only shade we have on the practice field. Would highly recommend to find some way to get some shade if you don't have any. (BTW, next week is our first game week!)
