One of our opponents does this and I think it has some possibilities.
.....Y.G.C.G.T.T.........................X ...Z......Q .................F ............T
They will set the F and the Z on either side, sometimes on the same side sometimes not. Doing some drawing with it I like the idea of putting the Z out in twins with X too.
Any thoughts?

that was essentially our base offense for two years
one major point about doing tackle over stuff, depending on what you run out of it if you run lead, sweep, counter, power type stuff out of it, it can be tough to teach the ol how to block all the different looks, the other thing about it that gives issues at times is the fact that from week to week you have to work those same different looks and adjust blocking schemes based on personnell a lot more than regular stuff
at least in my opinion
now, if you have a great pair of tackles and a solid enough TE that can allow you to run a form of counter, it can be deadly

How would teams react to it? Seems like if they overloaded or rotated the secondary over you could hit them on the backside with the two receivers.

We have a similar formation but with split backs and a flanker not a wing. We run all of our veer plays and their complementary P/A passes out of this with a few roll rout passes as well. Our HC wants to go to it as our base formation but I keep talking him out of it because it severely limits our ability to protect for our drop back passing game.

that it does hopts
any sort of passing game out of this for us was limited to, playactions off the front side, sprintouts weak and strong, and a little boot stuff
straight dropback and releasing the TE is a total pain to protect you can dredge up some ways to do it, but they are not real sound

This is Roger Freeborn's equalizer! His playbook is online and a couple of articles are posted at various websites. His site if still up is jvm.com/coachfree.com and he has a discussion board on delphi I think. Greg
