Loooking to get ideas on what coaches would include If they were going to create a spirit pack to give out as a recruiting package to kids at different events and meetings as a way of fostering goodwill with players and trying to encourage them to join the football team/program/club?
Cost is always a factor for these things so I'm thinking the cost of the pack to be $12.50 to $15.00.
Obvious thoughts are hat, tshirt, shorts.
Thanks! Cheers

Cheers The only thing we make mandatory is t-shirt and shorts. We might make compression shirts mandatory as well. Kids wear them for 7 on 7. That's it. With that said we have a bunch of extras they can choose to order, and we kick some of their fundraising money back at them into their spirit pack money as an incentive if they hit a certain amount. Extras include jackets, quarter zips, hoodies, sweats, hats, gloves, cleats, duffel bags.

our kids love the wrist bands. You can buy them in bulk so you could include that in a pretty low cost. We get the kids one each year and they are very big deals to them. I have one kid who has me hold on to his for every game.

I would include everything that you want them to have as part of the team, we always went out in team shirt and shorts for walk through and on the bus ride, so that was my spirit pack, plus I didn't have much for funds so that was it, they wore the t shirt under pads game time, if you want them to all have the same compression shirt in there then put that in, same socks, put that in, plain and simple,

Do I understand correctly that you're talking about promotional things vs the gear that players get for being on the team? If so, I'd say a T-shirt with a special logo on it "Future _______ Football Star". One program I knew had these mini-footballs - about 4" long. It had the school's name on one side, their logo/mascot on the other. I'd see a coach passing them out with a shirt at youth football events, the kids went nuts over them and it was a big deal to them. Funny thing is the older kids and high school players loved them, too.

we tie it in to our lift athon fundraiser 150 gets them 3 shirts shorts socks wristband for lower levels
kids who go 200 and above get that plus a hat and hoody
I am trying to push our HC to bump it up to 175 and include a 5 pad integrated girdle (will do all 7 pad girdle if i find one who fits our kids decently) girdles suck, leg pads suck getting kids to have their own 5 pad girdles is the best

coachbdud Not quite sure why leg pads suck. I definitely know they're not cool or trendy but I don't think they suck at all.

coachbdud Not quite sure why leg pads suck. I definitely know they're not cool or trendy but I don't think they suck at all. 1. kids lose leg pads -they can fall out -kids take them out to wash girdle and lose them -more total pieces to lose or forget 2. girdles with leg pads stuck in them tend to be much bulkier than "integrated" girdles 3. girdles tend to rip... crotches rip out, seams where pads are sewn in rip all the time -better for me financially if the kids are the one buying new girdles (via spirit pack or on their own) than ME paying for new girdles (and any pads they may lose for them) overall the integrated ones are much lighter, more comfortable, easier to move in (therefore i feel better for performance) easier to clean easier to keep track of (just one big piece) more cost effective (for me)
