Yeah...the PC police are goose-stepping all over the place.
My HS days began in '61. Every athlete I teamed with had lettered in at least 2 sports, usually football & track, or football & wrestling. There weren't many at home distractions like X-Box...or whatever, and most homes were two parent families. They were HOMES not just houses.
Will we ever see it again? IDK...
For the last few, I've been at a private school. Fewer than a thousand kids. They all WANT to be there and the vast majority have a mom and a dad.
The major problems I have are picking a starting lineup. Coaching is good again!

We have a senior DL who's dad runs one of the local youth programs. Dad preaches dedication and commitment to his youth programs. At the same time, his son has missed 3 out of 7 days of camp, and dad just emailed to say son would miss practice this week, a game week, for a family dinner. It's weird...

What's weird about it?
Parents want discipline in the schools - so long as you remember that THEIR son or daughter is the exception.

True. "I want YOU to be committed...to me. That way, I dont have to commit to chit." It's easier that way
