Does anyone have quality playbook software that they are really happy with and would suggest to a coach into purchasing? We have been looking at several different types, but haven't talked to coaches on what would benefit us the most or is the most user friendly. If you post, let me know how much your software costs. Thanks.

I am glad you asked this question. I myself have been looking around for something to make a playbook with. I also would like to get something that helps with cutups on film for teaching in the off season and scouting opens. I am working with a small budget (my own money since school has none for us with this type of stuff), a couple of hundred. Any recommendations and websites or contact info would be great. Thanks

We have a very limited budget as well. We had to take advantage of what we already had at the school, so we basically had to find something that ran on Mac. I had been using playmaker pro for years so we looked into the TD Vidoe that BWsoftware also developed. Basically we had to pay 895.00 and we were up and running. The school had all the hardware we needed to run TD Video. Does it have all the bells and whistles of DSV or LRS? No way, but it does a very good job for the price you pay.

Is the playmaker pro made by bwsoftware also or is it done by someone else?

Do you have a good power point template to use, I have not been able to find anything?

I have been using Pro Scout Video's built in playbook editor. I want something a little bit better with the ability to organize better( charts for blocking rules, multiple plays per page, possibly animation). Would powerpoint be able to do all those things in an easy manner? What about play maker software? Does anyone else know of other brands?

I use powerpoint and word. You can do anything you want with either one of those.

With PowerPoint you can create your own offensive, defensive formations/templates, background (example, green football field, hash marks, numbers, etc.) and copy paste as needed. You can animate PowerPoint (It's a great tool) and embed wmi film into the slides. You can embed Excel spreadsheets, graphs, etc into it as well. If you want a copy of my PP playbook for an example, PM me and I'll find the save file link on my home computer. There are also several PP playbooks in the download section, some of those can give you idea's on how to make your own also.

DSV itself is around $5500.
The playbook power system is between $300-$500. If you buy the whole DSV system the Playbook Power is usually packaged in their. If a coach wants it.

TD video is from the same company that makes playmaker pro. You can edit the film and enter data on each play and get reports up the wazzooo! Does it have all the bells and whistlles of DSV or LRS...... no way, but for 895.00 its all we can afford.
