I guess there are a few school districts that have experimented with later school start times
be interesting to see if their sports team have over-performed relative to their student body sizes (not to mention how they've performed in the class room)

Wasn't there a study that came out a few months ago that said adults only need 6-7 hours of sleep per night instead of 8+ hours? I don't think the study had anything to do with athletes though.

No, it said that not everybody needed the same amount of sleep, that some needed 8 hours but many could do OK with less.
