if any of you run different offenses based on personnel year to year(2-3 years probably), what do you tell the coach your offense is? just that? could you sell this to a hc?

I have never interviewed for an OC job becasue i was a DC until I became a head coach. When asked about my offensive package in the HC interviews I have had I have always emphasized that I have a huge offensive scheme that includes just about anything you can think of from 5 Wide to Double Tite I with a Wing. I make it very clear that I never will install the whole thing any year. The key is to keep the terminology the same from year to year and have that consistant throughout your whole package. That way you if you have a TE and FB one year you can run inside zone from the I, and when you don't have them the next year you can install the same play from the spread or whatever other look fits your personnel.

use this line: We will be a multi-faceted, multiple formation offense designed to best utilize the talents we have available each season. We have a complete and diverse offensive package that will feature the use of a group of base plays, with a multitude of formations, executed to perfection.
follow it with something that sums up what you 'prefer' to be in like: Our offense will usually work out of a one-back scheme and this dynamic offense will emphasize the use of the counter-trey, inside/outside zone, trap, option, shotgun, spread, and West Coast Offense philosophies to best utilize our personnel to create favorable match–ups.
pretty vague, yet sounds so specific ... lol

Have a base philosphy. OPTION,WING-T,POWER O, but multiple formations and concepts that change with the player personnel.
