Alright. We have had threads about pens and game day apparel. What are you guys wearing in the classroom? I alternate between grey and khaki dockers, and will usually wear something like a Nike quarter zip or a long sleeve button down from Banana Republic.
Here is why I ask. I spent the past 3 years coaching/teaching in the Salt Lake area. Moved back to Michigan this year and it is humid as f*ck and I'm sick of sweating my balls off. I'm looking at Nike/Under Armour polos, but not sure if I want to drop that kind of coin.

been there, when I was in Idaho, no humidity, loved it, got use to it, I remember when I moved back to the Midwest the first day of summer camp i'm thinking i'm going to die, had to get use to the humidity all over, I wear a t shirt under my dress clothes, I'm to cheap to get anything fancy, I have tons of t shirts so they help to soak sweat, I have my favorite t shirt from 94, almost see through but I'm not getting rid of it

Khakis, polo shirt with t-shirt underneath, and tennis shoes. That's what I wear everyday, along with a pullover every once in a while in winter.

Slacks, a button up, and dress shoes. Game days I wear coaching polos.
I never wear jeans or tennis shoes.
Dress for the job you want, not the job you have.

Come to Mississippi if you want to get a taste of hot and humid.
We have to wear a collared shirt, slacks and dress shoes. Most days I can be found in some type of coaching pullover (hot jacket) with dry fit tshirt underneath.
Don't worry, anders, when you get older you won't care as much about what you wear.
(Young guys do need to dress above and beyond to A. Help HS kids know you aren't a student and B. Stay off admin radar.)

Slacks, a button up, and dress shoes. Game days I wear coaching polos. I never wear jeans or tennis shoes. Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. I have the job I want, and on Wednesdays I wear jeans and my N.C. State T-shirt. Every other day it's Khaki pants and a polo with tennis shoes.

Slacks/Khakis, long sleeved collared shirt, and a tie. Everyday, Fridays included.
I've taught at public and private, in the Arizona and California deserts, so I know it can get hot but I feel you dress for what your job is (so the year I taught PE I dressed differently).

It has been unseasonably warm here the past week or so, pushing 90 everyday which doesn't usually happen in May. I don't mind heat one bit. The humidity is what is doing it. I just grew so used to the dry heat and forgot how uncomfortable it is.
The real problem is my classroom has a big wall of windows so when it is warm out it is like a big terrarium.

I'm not a teacher per se but I end up dressing like one and my kids are as immature as any of yours. In the summer I wear polos or linen dress shirts, and khakis in either light cotton or linen. I parrot with a linen or seersucker jacket. Winter is heavier slacks and dress shirts sometimes a sweater and a corduroy or camel hair jacket. Shoes are either brown leather shoes that are professional yet functional or hightop chucks in the summer.
In the real depths of winter these rules go out the window sometimes and I wear my fleece-lined jeans, because it's colder than Mars.

We also start school after Labor Day so there are still a couple of weeks left. When I was teaching I used to wear khakis/dress pants, polos (never with a logo), and dress shoes, never sneakers. One day a year, as a fund raiser, teachers were allowed to wear jeans if we paid up.

I wouldn't mind starting school after Labor Day as opposed to the first week of August, but I could see where football starting before school could be a problem for us getting players to campus.

We technically don't have a dress code in our contract. I only do jeans on Friday. Either jeans with spirit wear or jeans and a nice shirt.

I wear Dockers and a collared shirt. On Friday I wear jeans and a collared shirt....Ok so I guess I will say it...Why do many PE teachers dress so poorly? I guess you need to wear shorts (not really sure why) but can you put on a collared shirt and shave every day? We don't have a dress code in our school so many teachers will wear jeans on a daily basis. the funny thing its not necessarily the younger teachers doing it. and if you feel the need to wear jeans everyday can you get some that actually fit and not look like a bum...maybe they are trying to look younger, cool maybe?...these are the same teachers who also wonder why people look down on teachers..there i said it

Obviously not as high quality but for teaching math they're great for me and comfortable. I'm in Oklahoma so it's hot and humid here constantly.
