We want to start independent youth team and have never had to fundraise in Pop Warner. Turns out this is more expensive than expected. What are the latest trends that work? I have been advised to look into discount cards, BlastAthletics.com, beg letters and cookie dough. Anyone have experience? Suggestions?

thekesterfamily.com/Football/Links.html and look for file 420 Fundraisers.docx. I've got a new version with a few additional items but it's not too far from this. Let me know if you have any questions on this.

We just had a steak dinner today for my team. We served green beans, potato salad and an 8-9oz steak for $9 a plate. Made over $2,200.00 profit from 10-3.

I organized a bowling tournament recently. We had teams of 4-5 for $20 a person. The bowling alley charged us $11 per person. We played 2 games and sold raffle tickets. Finished with 95 registered bowlers and grossed close to 2k. It was a lot of work getting raffle items but other then that pretty easy and fun.
We're doing a golf fundraiser as well later this summer. Other then that, I would suggest selling advertising and putting a team banner on the sidelines or fence everygame and sell space on it to local businesses. This is probably your quickest bet.

If you have a legion or VFW in your community ask them if they would like to donate. We have had a lot of success doing this

5K rubs are good in our area. I know this is a typo but I still am laughing. A rub-and-a-tug would be a GREAT fundraiser, no doubt!

Youth program...5th/6th grade.
Two fundraisers that have been really good for us:
1. Applebee's Pancake Breakfast - Kids sell tickets for $5 each. The actual breakfast is 2 hours on a Saturday morning at the local Applebee's. Applebee's provides all the supplies and does all the cooking. Your organization just buses tables and serves food. You keep $4 from every ticket sold (80% profit margin!). You will usually get enough walk-in business and donations that the profit margin will be over 100%. Last year, we cleared $2,000 for 2 hours work.
2. Beg letters. I send out about 50 letters to local businesses and civic organizations (every other year) asking for a $100 donation. If people donate, I list their businesses in the local fishwrap in a quarter-page ad (which is donated by the newspaper). I usually get about 33% participation. So, for about $25 in postage, I pull in about $1500.
Now sure how far this would go towards a junior high or high school program, but this is a nice chunk of change for a youth program.

Jared - These are ideas that I have done and gathered from this site (several years ago), other sites, and from boosters and youth associations I've been with/known. I keep updating it as I find new things to do.

First I have a question. Why didn't you need to fundraise for Pop Warner? You can not beat www.charitymania.com/ Biggest return I have ever seen for a fundraiser and a easy sell.
