Sounds like a really good incentive program. Sadly tho we can't afford stuff like this or I would bring it up to our AD.

Pick your jersey number, wear a visor, better food, etc. Just looking for some feedback from folks who may be trying something similar.

Hand out gear based on point system. Pick jersey number. Etc. The incentives don't have to be expensive or cost anything at all.

This is really cool. I love the positive praise for the young men doing what they are supposed to be doing too. Similar to PBIS in a high school.

Sadly out jersey number pool is very limited. We only have 31 jerseys and helmet choice is all the same. If you can fit it you can wear it. Kids don't like accessories that much around our place. They've never really had much anyway so it doesn't matter to them. Our helmets are 4 years old and shoulder pads are probably 10-15 years old. Bought our unis 3 years ago. One pair of game pants and home/away jersey. I need an idea on how to use this incentive program when we don't have the gear or flashy things that could attract more kids to the program.

Do you do team meals? Could be something like "gold group" or whatever you call it eats first. The only problem there is what if they all reach your gold group?

From my understanding it's pretty difficult. The Gold is for the top 10% or so. They have to be hitting on all cylinders in all areas for that to happen.

We are doing something kind of like that this year that we stole of U of Houston.
Every kid has been issued a tshirt that has their name and a big question mark on the front. They will lift in that shirt and do any team activity (sans when they are in gear) in that shirt until they meet the expectations set for them. Once a kid has 'proven' himself they will get the regular team swag to wear.
The ? shirt was issued to everyone at the start, regardless of grade, returning starter, role, etc....

two incentives that have worked well is rewards for top point earners - get to pick up equipment before everyone else and get to sit out a conditioning session the first week of two-a-days
