Just took over as DC at a school. Going over game tapes from last season. Ran across this formation. Curious as to what it is and if anyone else has seen it.

The deep back is 6 yds deep
The middle back is splitting the Tackle, roughly 3.5 yds. deep
FB is 2yds deep splitting guard.

I saw something similar to this, this past season. the F and H moved around (double a's, b/c) it was painfully obvious to us what they were trying to do-iso and power-based on what the alignment was. The team we played used this a few times and that was it. we stop it and they ran something totally different.
You should be able to pare down their playbook into some very specific plays.
Is this is a formation they run a lot? like everyone else, What do they run?

They run option (fake dive with FB, the H kicks out), iso, and a counter with the FB. Some play action off of the iso. Not much of anything else...They don't do a lot, but they look like they execute well.

It seems to me this is a formation from which you want to run counter. It is balanced on the LOS, but unbalanced in the backfield. It seems like they want to pound off-tackle until the defense adjusts, then hit the counter.
If there are less than 5.5 guys on the left side of the formation, run counter.
That's just me seeing it from a philosophy stand-point.
