I have been a member for four years, but have yet to make it to convention. It's always been right when we started 2nd semester. The manuals are awesome.

Can middle school coaches join? I don't see anything that really says they can or can't.

they usually come in the summer, I think July. I've gone to three conventions (New Orleans, Orlando, and Louisville), all were a great time and an awesome way to make contacts and stay in touch with people. I have friends coaching college ball who I only talk to near convention time and at the convention.

I am a member and would love to go the convention - when they hold one close to CA. I too am looking forward to the summer manual.
Those of you who are not members - when you join, you will receive access to the password section of the website - where they have all of the video and transcriptions of the last few year's worth of conventions. Lots of great stuff there. Plus, if you have coaches that you used to work with but have lost touch - they produce a membership directory once/year and it lists schools, addresses, phone numbers.

I've been to 4 conventions. I think my membership has lapsed... I need to renew (that is second priority only to renewing my HOG membership... since I was stranded with a flat tire near St. Francis, Kansas a week ago).

Member four years. Now I can't wait until summer manual comes out. Great resource. The member directory is a great help. Every contact I have made has gotten back to me and been very helpful. No convention yet.

Can middle school coaches join? I don't see anything that really says they can or can't. Bringing up an old thread, I know. But I've got the same question. I'd gladly pay $60/year to join.

I believe that any coach can join, I would just ckeck the box for the high school coaches. Great investment.
I will ask my question again, anyone got their summer manual?

Member since 1995. Missed one convention (98) since joining. This year it's back to San Antonio and next year (2008) it will be in Anaheim. I still think it would be a great idea to have a high school "room" at the convention for members of this site.

Here is the link for thier feedback form. www.afca.com/lev1.cfm/58 On the theory that it's easier to get forgiveness than permission, I'd just check "High School" and send it in. What, are the Coaching Police going to track you down?

I just got an email back that confirms middle schools coaches can join. It didn't eleborate on whether or not you check the high school box, but I'm guessing that is so.
