The "Do any other states" thread got me thinking about a question I've been meaning to post for a while: do any other states besides Iowa have a website to report stats to? We have www.quikstatsiowa.com and it's actually mandated by our association that we report stats by the end of Weeks 3, 6, and 9 plus immediately after any playoff games. Most just simply update every week, of course. Just curious if anyone else has this?

there seems to be multiple ways to input or find stats. Max Prep tracks them, the local newspaper either tracks them or ask the coach for the stats they accumulated.

We don't have it. But I think it would be a good idea. We do ours on maxpreps/hudl - you can import them from spreadsheets. I'm the HC and I go back and do every stat from film the morning after the game. I try to be hard on our guys so that the stats are as accurate as possible - so our tackles/assists and stuff are probably a little under what they should be. We had a kid in our league this year with 235 tackles...his dad was the entering their teams stats.

Yeah, the tackles get crazy sometimes! On the program I linked in my last post, we are only allowed to enter two players per tackle at most. Either one player gets a solo or two players get an assist. And, I think you have to enter a total number of plays, so therefore there is a maximum number of tackles that can be entered team-wide. I think the state mandated site is somewhat beneficial for scouting...but the only people who seemingly get upset when the site is down are fans!

That's funny we had a team this year with the top 5 tacklers in the state, lead the nation in tackles per game for a while, I'm not sure if they finished there. They went 4-7.
As to the question, we have a coaches association that everyone has agreed to send their stats to and then the association distributes them to newspapers, writer, etc. I don't think there's any mandate from the state.

The FHSAA (FL) has a site where we have to post game results within hours after the game is over. Nothing is mandatory there besides scores by quarter and the final.
We input everything onto Maxpreps, mostly so we have an easy way of passing along information for recruiting.

Here we are highly urged to do so by the league through their website. They get businesses to sponsor the stat section and to increase traffic more than just a handful of teams need to enter stats because what's the point of checking stats when only a few teams are entered. It will be mandatory for us very soon.

We do not in PA wish we did. Our local paper does an outstanding job covering local HS sports so they keep all the district stats but after that there is nothing state wide. With all the technology now days you would think the state would set something up and have a leader board for stats.
On a side note I love tackle stats in HS! Always great to see multiple kids averaging 20 a game LOL The coach who deos ours is a former math teacher and does an outstanding job with ours which is a rarity!

I guess maybe it's fairly more common than I thought. It didn't occur to me that maybe some districts, conferences, and states would require maxpreps since it's set-up to keep track of information.
