6th graders play HS basketball? Really?? I'm not knocking it as it sounds like this 6th grader can definitely play with the big girls, but I've never heard of it. I knew 8th graders played in some states. Are there other states besides Alabama that play 6th graders? Can you play as a 4th grader?

Congrats! Can she come demonstrate basketball skills for my Middle School PE classes?
Just finished 6th grade PE with a basketball activity and I think I would have more fun watching my grandma watch paint dry...you would think we were building a house with all the bricks we were throwing up.

We are in a private school association and it lets 6th graders play. And yes, technically, I think a 4th grader could play. The public school league in Alabama has eligibility staring in 7th grade. Now this is not 6a championship bball. But we did beat some public schools teams over the summer including a pretty good 4a team by double digits that is currently first in their region and has beaten 6a teams. And we are VASTLY improved since then. One reason is that my daughter has gone from part-time starter and playing half the game to never coming out and growing about 4 inches since then. She played 9th grade AAU basketball last year as a 5th grader and dominated! She also scrimmaged many times with the 11th grade AAU team that has a few d1 players and she held her own. She has been fortunate to have been coached by a boys 6A state championship basketball coach in rec league, a championship winning AAU coach, and our schools state championship boys and girls coach. And she has played with the University of Alabama basketball coach's daughters in rec ball. She was at the Bama camp as a 4th grader and got to play a Bama college player one on one and beat her. Now don't get me wrong, I know that girl was not going all out and they were playing to like 5, but the other Bama players were like, "I'm not playing her." LOL She has played pickup with grown men. Used to play with pickup basketball with our varsity boys including a Penn State DE and Furman OT. And she actually contributed in those games. Here is a little video. Not too much of our girls, but my daughter is 23. www.wsfa.com/story/31172648/edgewood-wins-aisa-aa-state-championship-over-macon-east-59-39And some highlights: www.hudl.com/athlete/7003928/chloe-johnsonPlease forgive me. We didn't get in until after midnight, and I am running on pure adrenaline, excitement, and cockiness.
