Heard today on ESPN radio that Mike Leach has an interview at Miami....Could be interesting if he gets that job, also his OC Sonny Dykes has left to become OC at the University of Arizona....

I'd like to see Leach get a shot at that level; he's such a friendly guy and is always willing to share knowledge. Imagine what those ACC WRs could do with his system.

Okay...I was told that there are no stupid questions...so here it goes I never heard of Mike Leach, and maybe I did hear something and I just do not recall it , so that being the case can anyone fill me in on him? Where does he coach at now? I assume he is an Air Raid guy by the posts...correct?? Thanks - and don't crucify me too much for my lack of knowledge...

Mike Leach is awesome!!!!
He and his staff are exceptionally friendly and very helpful to high school coaches. I was treated exceptionally well every time I have been out there. They would answer any and all questions, let you observe practice, and even get right down there on the field and observe up close. I wish him the very best and would love to see him get a shot at that level (even though I hate the 'Canes).

He runs what is called the air raid offense. he throws 50 to 60 times agame his qb averaged i believe 375 yds passing a game this year. he believes in lengthning the game instead of shortening it. he is really a smart guy, he is a lawyer and decided to coach. he was the oc at oklahome before coming to tech. I mean he took a jc transfer with a limp arm and made OU something again. the u of illinois tired to lure him away prior to hiring the zooker. he believes in basketball on grass. if you know otto zeman at riverside brookfield, you will understand mike leach. I personally hope he does not take the U job. I do not like the canes because of their style of play. tauting and the like. it has been the home of some seedy coaches like dennis erickson. I admitt, while butch davis was there the canes were a watchable team.

Airman - Thank you! I do recall now of hearing of Mike Leach, and I HAVE heard of Texas Tech, I recall reading an article a few years back in Sports illustrated about the offense. Do not know Zeman, but I do know about RB - they can put up the points and yardage in a hurry. They have had some good teams in the past. Also agree with you about Miami. I do not like what they stand for...all the BS. I know it is not everyone there, but when it talks like a duck, walks like a duck, it is a duck! Thanks for the "knowledge"

Mike Leach could work wonders with that talent but I'm not sure if his style--a bit more laid back, etc--would work when half your team is strapped. If nothing else Miami probably will go for someone with a "disciplinarian" reputation because of their problems.
That said I'm sure Mike Leach could win anywhere he goes, and I'm quite certain he'd put up monster yards and points.
