I have an interview with a head coach for a college OC job and was wondering what I should bring. Should I have a bounded copy of my playbook with their helmet and school name on the front cover, or do I just bring a bounded copy of my offensive philosophy with the same type of cover for him. I always have my computer so film will be available if he wanted to see some of the concepts that I would run.

Why don't you call and ask him what he wants to see?

The suits usually don't care about X's and O's unless they are former coaches who are trying to impress someone. When I went to an interview, I took a notebook that contained my philosophy and approach to football. The following was in the notebook: coaching experience, overview, philosophy, what I expect from an assistant, what assistants can expect from me, head coach responsibilities, varsity assistant coach responsibilities, freshman coach responsibilities, weekly practice breakdown, what I expect from players, academic info, team rules, community relations ideas, coaching references.

AS a HC or Coordinator the only thing I have ever been glad I spent a lot of time putting together was a program plan for the weights conditioning/offseason etc.... (this was for HC not coordinator). I guess it doesn't hurt to have something ready but as a head coach if I am interviewing you I would feel more comfortable with you answering questions off your knowledge of the topic. I would see a playbook as unnecessary, but, like I said may not hurt.
Are they hiring an OC to run the O without any micro management? Or are they hiring an OC to run the HCs offense? As for the post above if you walked in my office with a bottle of Jim you would get serious brownie points as long as the conversation that followed a few glasses was a great football conversation.
I'm pretty unorthodox. I only really have a piece of notebook paper with some adjustments scribbled on game night for my play call sheet. So take my thoughts with a grain of salt.
As said before call him and ask!!!!! Can't hurt
