So a guy around here is a football junkie and has been to almost 100 games just this season. He has been tweeting from Texas and I have been reading that the attendance is way down from last years games. Being from way up here in PA was just wondering what the deal was. Saw that the one game had 40,000 last year and only 15,000 this year.

Biggest classifications were today 6A Katy vs Lake Travis game just ended - 43,000 attendance so I would say that's pretty good, especially since I stayed home and watched every game on Fox sports southwest.

My cousin who lives in Dallas said he heard a lot of people in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area were upset the games were moved to Houston because of a scheduling conflict with the cowboys and also because the cowboys played Saturday night.

Of all the games, I was disappointed to see the QB from Celina break his arm in the first quarter against West Orange Stark. I like their offensive system, but it was not the same without him in there.

Funny how the DFW teams were not nearly as good this time around. They have hosted for 7 years in a row and have dominated, but they got it handed to them this year while the GHA won three of the four biggest classifications. I hope they have a rotation with Dallas. Houston, and San Antonio from here on out.

Did I accidentally get to Pigskin Prep? LOL sorry I just saw somewhere that they were down 100,000 in attendance from last years games and was wondering how that big of a drop off could have happened in a year. Don't get me wrong 150,000 people watching HS football is an insane number just was curious how it went from 250 to 150 in a year. As for PA we had 12,000 for 4 games. Way to represent...

At first I didn't care, but it seems that the dfw folks were making a big deal of the attendance issue - basically saying this is houstons fault. I agree Jerry world is the best setting imaginable but the games need to rotate and the 3 choices are AT&T , nrg, and Alamodome - I don't want a state championship with weather factoring in. I'm a big believer in all the games being televised (all classifications, the kids deserve it) which means they have to all be at the same site - but I also think that site should rotate. So I guess what I'm saying is "chill out dfw" you dont own the state championships and driving 4 hrs won't hurt you - just ask Canadian.
