Just read "Season of Life". Wow!
2 pieces of advice:
1. Read it.
2. Be careful reading it on a plane from Nashville to Houston 'cause you might have to order your coke through very moist eyes.

Middle Tennessee, about halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga. But my family is from Knoxville, so that's pretty much my second home.

Our DC went to Sewanee. We're just off the mountain, a county or two away.

I feel very very fortunate to have met Coach Ehrmann and Jeffrey Marx in May. I spoke to both of them regarding lots of issues including character development. What also was cool is how they listened to a couple ideas that we have implemented at our school and said the he (Coach Ehrmann) was going to try as well.
When my father went through 10 hours of surgery to remove a cancerous mass in his midsection I told a friend of mine who is good friends with Mr. Marx. I mentioned my dad's situation to my friend because my dad's situation could change how I teach and coach this fall. He told Jeffrey about my decision to stop coaching to be with my dad if things got worse. That particular evening I got an email from Mr. Marx expressing his concern for my dad, a man he doesn't even know (let alone not knowing me at all).
Those two men are the real deal and I was extremely honored to be in their presence and even more honored to discuss life and football with them. Season of Life is a life altering book.
