how have you guys gotten the community and student body to really support your team? our stands are really quiet and many new people to our school have commented on how a game seems like a social occasion. what have you done to get students to attend game and really go nuts in pep rallyies and ball games? we are small school and on 15 min from to great programs at much bigger schools. any ideas greatly appreciated. mikewdw

Coach pep rallies, one thing we did was start selling terrible towels so that the students could wave them at the games, you have to do things to make them feel the team needs them and winning of course helps

Coachdawhip,
Great point. Make the Students feel that "we need you to help us win". That will also encourge particapation in the program. Equipment guys, Water girls, ...and Players.

I always ask coaches if their FB team support the other programs? Do they attend girls basketball games? Support the other programs and they will support you.

Coach I sit right behind the bench at the basketball agmes and yell at the refs more than the coaches do, our Head Girls coach always tells me to calm down before I start throwing chairs!!! We also made shirts for the girls to wear to games, Girls Power Puff Team, still unbeaten!!! It's harder for us attendance wise because we play in a county where 17 High Schools share 5 stadiums
