I like silence, but the players don't!

In the lockerroom, honestly, i don't know who the heck it is. It's rap, that's all I know.
When we're warming up, metal.

I used to pick all the music - hard rockin 70's and 80's from when I played with a liberal dose of stadium anthems from all era's along with the occasional classic from NFL Films. THe parents loved em, but the players hated it! Last year I finally let go and let the kids pick them out as long as there's no Rap Crap as I call it. Contemporary uptempo is all I want to hear!

In the locker room.....silence. On the field during pre-game...a mixture of rock and some rap. Absolutely no hint of a curse word (not even a clean version will do b/c if the parents/AD hears an edit they cut it...oh and no "Welcome to the Jungle" )

Had the "curse" word issue earlier this year. Apparently a** makes the cut for clean version now. Regardless, we just go with instrumentals, NFL films, and Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight".

Funny..a few years ago we had this discussion if we should have music in the locker room, we talked to the Senior's and they said no, they didn't want it. Which is cool by me hah. Anyway..now when we get other teams come to our school they blast their music and our kids can hear it..and most of em say.."coach..we're going to pound them hard.". Gotta love the farm kids lol. We don't have music in our pregame..honestly..i wish we had a little bit. The dead silence just isn't right. Maybe a little AC/DC!

We have the kids pick their pregame warm-up music.
AC/DC (For Those About to Rock) Some rap, which is actually pretty good. Not hardcore kill your mother stuff, but stuff just to get you pumped up. Some random other rock stuff.
Last year they had Grateful Dead... Not even close.

The players like rap but I dont really care. As long as it has good rhythm and gives the kids energy. One year it was some marching band type music and I wasn't particularly a fan of that. We are lucky enough to have a parent who is a DJ and he takes care of the music for us. It has been great so far.

LOL, AD said no curse words, but allowed "March of Cambreadth" repeating line." How many of them can we make Die" Uh, I am really confused right now, LOL. So a player said, which was forgiven, and it was hilarious at that time," I can kill someone, but not swear?"

On last year's Miami Vice movie soundtrack there's a cover of In the Air Tonight by Nonpoint. Pretty good update. They put the drum crash in all the choruses.

I was the manager in High school and I a tape my junior and senior year which included songs from Guns & Roses,Bon Jovi,AC/DC,Queen. The coaches loved it because it had no RAP CRAP but some of the players din't like it. However the coach heard what they played and there were too many F Bombs in their songs
