I really don't understand why we as a culture give a damn about what anybody is doing in their bedroom.
I lived in Utah for a while and the kids were making fun of one of their teammates because he got laid (by a girl). WTF?

Very well said. On one staff I worked there was a saying: "If you can't call someone a c-sucker (sorry if inappropriate to some) without them being offended then you don't respect each other. That was a tight staff that got after each other all the time. I was young at the time but I learned a lot with that group they worked hard, played hard and loved each other, the kids and the game. We won a lot of games there because guys were all on the same page. And I don't think one of us would have had any problem with a gay colleague but I wonder if we would have treated him the same out of fear of being considered discriminatory.

I would guess that the vast majority of coaches completely agree with Wendler's article.
However, in our hyper-sensitive modern society, most coaches would not support this viewpoint publicly.

Despite the culture police's best efforts, I feel their campaign to have a completely inclusive society has had the complete opposite effect on me. I am completely tolerant and respect others views, culture, struggles from race, sexual orientation, whatever. However, I put up a barrier towards that they will never be able to penetrate because I feel like the moment I misspeak, I will be thrown under the bus. It's kind sad really. I end up with a completely homogenous inner circle of people whom I trust. This was not always the case.

Like the article said, if the teammates werent giving him a hard time about being gay he would be alone in the locker room. We had to suspend both kickers, a starting DB/WR, starting DE/HB and starting OT from a game this season because of some teenage boys talking $h!t to each other over text. A couple of kids were threatened with expulsion. If Admin ever got a hold of one of the coaches phones, the whole staff would be gone as hard of a time we give each other.
I have a cousin who growing up we thought was gay. When he came out the closet it was such a relief because now we definitely could mess with him. In fact to this day when I see him I greet him with a big hug and say, what up up fruit cake? But he knows its all in fun and that I dont care if he is gay.
