I always try to go to every game I can if we are not playing. It feels good to get out and see what other teams are doing. Some times the trip is not worth it but then other times I see some new little wrinkle that I really like or a new way to run a play etc...

I won't go quite that far but it's not that far off either. The worst is when you pull into the parking lot, see the floats, and realize it's Homecoming and that there be an extended halftime.

I hardly watch college on TV. If Tech starts losing I flip it. If Star Wars Rebels is on, I would much rather watch that with my kids. The one last night was awesome!

I'll go to games in the area where my friends coach. Otherwise I enjoy having my Fridays to just relax at home

I'm okay with just hanging out at home or with friends instead. I was going to say I don't have time. But, the truth is that by the time I'm done dealing with all the prep work for our games, the last thing I want to do is watch some kids I don't know play a game that's disconnected from our program. If I have buddies coaching there or a former player on the field, I might go. That's about it.

I go to my HS rivalry game. One of the bigger games in the area every year regardless of how the teams are doing.

I don't know that I've missed a Friday night being at a game since I got out of college 11 years ago, and in high school once we got beaten out (made it to the finals once), my dad and I'd go to games...especially State-Semi games the day after Thanksgiving.
Here in Kentucky, the state finals are BIG DEAL for coaches. It's like our state wide get away. The finals are played in Bowling Green @ Western Kentucky University and almost every staff from a across the state is there. I'd say 75% of the staffs across the state are there. WKU has a new club house seating area and most of us coaches buy those tickets up. Everybody gets down there on Thursday (some on Wednesday night like myself haha). There are a handful of sports bars that are literally SLAMMED all day Thursday with guys coming in and then Friday and Saturday nights after the finals games.
It's a great time.

The last final game ever played there was the 4A game between Trinity and Male. Future All-Americans at Louisville and Pro's Brian Brohm (QB for UL) along with Michael Bush (QB for Male, turned RB for UL) played in what most consider the best our state has ever seen....a back and forth game that Trinity won in the 50's. It went to Papa Johns through the 08 season and has since been at WKU. Both have their perks. WKU is a great atmosphere.

Look forward to it every year, I just assumed every state also had a similar deal.

My head coach was a former DC at Trinity so he took a bunch of us to watch that classic game.
