Does anyone have an outline of job responsibilities for a director of football operations? Any insights or information would be appreciated. I see more and more schools having this position and would like to understand what this position does a little more. Thanks, Mike

There is no set job description although most involve off the field duties including travel and coordination with recruiting. Others have quality control and or sideline duties. Go to ncaa.org and look at the employment section - there will probably be a few football ops position listed during the next few weeks.

It means you get to do all the paperwork and bureaucratic BS the head coach AND "assistant head coach" don't want to do.

DOF also handles arranging pro day and works with NFL scouts when they visit....I know some who have parlayed those connections into NFL scouting jobs.
