Anyone have an idea on how to invite these D1 schools around the country to do a satellite camp at their school. I think it would be great to have these types of camps held on our campus, but don't know how to make it a reality.

I was at one yesterday but it was at a college.

They contacted us...if you are located in or immediately around a bigger city and have the facilities your chances go up exponentially.

We host them at my high school. Generally, they are looking at location and facilities. We are in a very populated area north of Dallas and have an indoor facility. Typically recruiters will ask me about hosting camps when they are in during the spring.

You're right. I must still be loopy from the last two weeks. The camp that I was at was one of those that are making national news. Penn State at Old Dominion. Those guys made the headlines but there were coaches there from virtually every 1AA and D.2 school in the region. Great opportunity for kids. I understand now that the camps that the OP is talking about is one where one college comes in and runs a camp (Combine, really) at a HS. There have been some around here. From what I've seen the criteria are a HS with great facilities, in a populated area with a track record of producing college athletes where there's a realistic chance for the college to establish a recruiting base.

I too was at one of the camps making headlines - Exposure U in Ann Arbor. This comment is pretty on point. It also helps to have big name recruits in the area. If I remember correctly Nick Saban did a similar camp a few years ago to recruit Dee Hart and donated all equipment to the school.
